Diablo II Hangs While Loading
This usually occurs when you try to edit/alter an item that is 'on' your character. The only thing that can be done to an item that the character is wearing is to socket it. (The helm, or an item in either hand.) This can not be done from the 'Item' view, but from the 'Special' menu.

Character Looses All Inventory...
This can occur for several reasons. The most popular of which is when an item is changed to a bigger item and there is not room for the bigger item. Like turning an inventory full of potions to swords.

The App Is Running, But I Can't Find It
This can be solved by running your Registry Editor (Backup The Registry First, or don't even try this if you don't know about the registry), and going to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Ntzrplk.042\]. You will find the D2Edit folder. Under this you will see a 'Metrics' folder. Delete the 'Metrics' folder. This will not alter anything besides the D2Edit program. I use this key to store the size and position of the windows and list columns in D2Edit. This problem seems to occur when the registry gets corrupted and 'junk' data is placed in these fields. And when you run the application it places itself, based on these values, very far off your screen.

Note: Most items 'grow' down and to the right. The only item I've seen that does not follow this behavior is the 'Book of Skill' which grows up and to the left. (The 'Book of Skill' depends on an outside flag that I've yet to track down, to be effective.)
