NOTICE:
I originally wrote this editor because I became bored with the game after a few months of really hard playing. I found myself playing only to 'level-up' and to find new items. But the app posted here hasn't worked properly since Blizzard released patch 1.04. In that release they made the contents of the character files completely different - no ending tags. What is occurring: my application is looking 'through' your item list and when it finds an item it keeps going until it finds an ending tag. Well, it never stops looking because the 'tag' is not there. So it appears to 'hang'. I apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused any of you. So, currently this editor is limited to Diablo II with patch v1.03 or less. I have modified my personal version (not downloadable - don't even ask) to get around this problem. I do not plan on releasing this version of the editor or the one I've made for D2:LoD. I do not participate, nor condone, acquiring or using illegal software in any way. Please stop asking me for install codes. Thank all of you for your interest in this little app.

Notes On Usage:

1) When you first run the editor click Options\Program options You will want to select the option 'Backup characters on change'. The character will be backed up each time you modify an item.

2) When you replace/change an item you must observe the rule that items 'grow' down and to the right. For instance: If you want to change a potion to a sword, you will want to make sure that the potion is at the top in the inventory and that the sword will have enough spaces to be placed there. (A potions takes up one space, and a sword can take 4, 6, or 8 spaces.) If the item does not have room to be placed there your character will be reverted back to beginning stats.

3) Do not fix/replace/modify in any way - items that are on your characters body. Take the items off and place them in the inventory. You can use the "Special' menu to socket items that you are wearing.

4) Currently you can 'export' items - in a future version you will be able to alter and import these items. This will assist you when you are trying to gather 'sets' of items.

For more information see the 'How To...' section.
I really need feedback to make this thing into a complete application.
Any suggestions or comments about the app would be greatly appreciated.
I plan on posting updated versions on a regular basis and if you want to be notified please contact me and let me know.
